Let me tell you why you need a few of these tricks in your pocket. First, they are REALLY inexpensive. Despite their low cost, they are very nice looking tricks, and fit easily in your shirt pocket, wallet, or purse. Second, in less than five minutes of practice you will be able to do this trick on a moment's notice while standing, sitting in a restaurant, or just about anywhere. Third, this trick fools most of the people most of the time. It's not a good idea to repeat a trick, but I have experimentally done this trick over up to four times with the same person without giving away the gimmick. (I don't think that's the norm, but.... And finally, this is a trick that you can leave behind if you don't mind giving up the secret. Because it's inexpensive and fun, it makes a memorable leave-behind so your friend/client/customer can learn a trick from you that they can do over and over. It's up to you, but this trick is surprisingly entertaining considering the price and the simple gimmick.

Difficulty: This trick is easy. By spending a few minutes with it you can polish your presentation to make it more fun and mystifying, but you really don't need to spend much time practicing to fool people with this illusion. You will find yourself carrying this trick everywhere you go.

Basic presentation: The magician shows a card with several small images of playing cards printed on it. The spectator is shown both sides of the card, and challenged to place a paper clip on a particular card, but they can't do it! It's as if the selected card is moving around and can't be singled out!

Patter: You can find numerous ways to present the clip card trick depending on your personal style. Remember, the story and the presentation is as important as the right trick and technique. Some ideas might include

Challenge your spectator to a simple test of mental acuity. Ask them to place a paper clip on a selected picture of a playing card after looking at both sides of the cards. What? It seemed so easy...
Amazing scientific advances have allowed you to create a colorful printed card with ink that moves around!! Just try to pin down the selected card with a paper clip. It can't be done because it won't remain in one place on the printed card...
The performer's hand is quicker than the spectator's eye! You can move this card so quickly that the specatator can't keep up with the location of the selected card. Produces results a little like three card monte (but with one card)
